Eagle-eyed regular readers may have noticed one key difference about the Monday Mediaweek Morning Report today. There are no Sunday night TV ratings. At this time of the week, we would normally be sending out metro and regional channel shares.
Every morning, for nearly 20 years, Mediaweek has been publishing the overnight rankings of the most-watched TV programs for all people and key demos based on metro average audiences. Starting today, the industry embarks on a new era, which all agree is necessary but will be a lengthy and complex process, to shift to the VOZ Total TV data and embrace reach as the main currency.
When will readers see the new VOZ Total TV daily data
With the move to VOZ Total TV data, that has all changed. Daily data will no longer be available for some things, including subscription TV and what is being watched on the multi-channels.
The new VOZ Total TV data will arrive late in the morning each day. It will rank the Top 30 programs for the previous night by national reach. The national average audience figure will also be supplied. The rankings will be available for total people and several key demos.
Mediaweek will bring those Total TV numbers to readers each day in a web post around noon. Once we get a grip on the new system with some details of exactly what we will have access to, we shall update our readers with a note about how we will continue the tradition of bringing you the most comprehensive daily ratings report.
