Snapchat is celebrating the spooky season with Halloween-themed Lenses and Bitmoji features.
To help Snapchatters get in the ghostly spirit, the platform is bringing back the beloved haunted theme Snap Map on October 31,
For Snapchat+ members, they will be granted access to brand new spine-chilling exclusive profile backgrounds.
Snapchat users can add a creepy mood to their home with Rune Room, which lets you stamp runes – or mysterious, ancient lettering – on any surface.
Those with a cat or dog can transform their furry friend into a ghost by using the Spooky Pet Lense.
The platform is releasing five new Bitmoji costumes, including a cat burglar, a devil catsuit, a superhero, a cheerleader, and an 80s aerobics instructor.
And for a limited time only, Snapchatters can secure Fantasy Wings for your Bitmoji, which are exclusively available on Snapchat until November 1.
For those not dressing up this Halloween season, they can choose from three new festive Halloween t-shirts, including two spooky graphic tees and one that simply reads ‘This is my Costume’.
Snapchat’s fun Halloween offering to its users comes after the platform announced a raft of new features on the platform that will give users more control over their content last week.
Snapchat is one of the first communications platforms that will allow its subscription users to set the expiration time on their public Stories.
Custom story expiration will let subscribers set Snaps on their story to expire after one hour or up to one week.
With this new feature, members can make sure their friends see their special Snaps worth sharing longer or keep them coming back for their most fun and fleeting moments.
Among the other new features is Custom Notification Sounds. This allows Snapchatters to set different tones for different friends so they can tell who Snapped them without looking at their phone.
