Lynx has recruited Australian NBA guard Dyson Daniels for an intentionally over-engineered fragrance stunt, with Thinkerbell creating a sculptural holder modelled on the basketball star from fingertip to chest.
The Lynx Dyson Daniels Fine Fragrance Holder is the centrepiece of a new campaign parodying the excesses of luxury fragrance advertising, from impossibly serious celebrity ambassadors to elaborate bottles and mysterious films.

A deliberately over-engineered fragrance holder
Daniels, an Australian guard for the Atlanta Hawks, lends his form to an oversized object designed to make an everyday can of Lynx Fine Fragrance resemble an extravagant perfume bottle.
Thinkerbell also worked with creator duo The Macfarlane Bros on social-first content, with the campaign positioning Daniels as defending young men’s ability to smell expensive without paying a luxury fragrance price.

Dave Rebetzke, Marketing Manager at Unilever, said: “Young men want to look and smell great without being priced out of high-end fine fragrances. Partnering with Dyson Daniels allows us to show up authentically in spaces Gen Z cares about, proving that luxury-quality fragrance doesn't require a luxury price tag.”
From FISHER to Dyson Daniels
The Daniels work continues territory Lynx explored when it launched its Fine Fragrance collection in 2024 with DJ FISHER. That campaign also exaggerated familiar luxury-fragrance clichés under the platform Smell Finer Than The Finest Fragrances.
Mediaweek reported at the time that Hello had been appointed Lynx’s creative agency of record ahead of the range’s launch. The latest release credits Thinkerbell as creative and earned agency for the Daniels project, with WPP Production handling production and Mindshare on media.
Cat Williams, Head Tinker at Thinkerbell, said: “In the world of fine fragrance, elaborate bottles are usually reserved for luxury perfume houses. Moulding a custom holder off NBA defensive star Dyson Daniels was a fun way to bring some oddity and cultural clout to Lynx Fine Fragrance. It’s absurd, single-minded, and gives guys a way to smell like a million bucks for a fraction of the cost.”
The integrated campaign spans earned media, social teasers, digital and in-store activity, alongside a live meet-and-greet activation at Chemist Warehouse in Melbourne.
