Twitch has had a big 2022, and the live-streaming service has shared its look back at its favourite moments of the year.

Some highlights include epic knockouts during Twitch Rivals, IRL jumpscares and moments of pure joy.

Whether they’re playing, napping, slothing or just plain existing, animals are majestic creatures and this year quite a few became breakout stars on Twitch’s streams.

An excitable gorilla giving /BrySuperSaurus a not-so-casual jumpscare tops on the platform’s list this year, alongside what has to be the wildest episode of /TrashTastePodcast, which saw various pythons, a lizard, among other creatures make their global debut. What a hoot!

A Pride Month to remember

There’s always a lot going on in Grand Theft Auto role-play. Users could take up a new career, enjoy some fun-filled virtual mayhem, and meet some incredible people.

They could even band together for one heck of a Pride Parade, or at least that’s what happened in the NoPixel server, which saw /MadameGandalf busting out some great dance moves alongside the rest of the GTA community during Pride Month.

What happens when some of ANZ’s favourite streamers go head to head in an ever-expanding dodgeball universe? Only one of the most entertaining /TwitchRivals battles in history, with Team Dryness and Team Moistness going head to head at Twitch Rivals: Knockout City Showdown at DreamHack Melbourne, with /Nalopia doubling KOs to lead Team Dryness to absolute victory.

Many memes were also birthed in 2022. One particular highlight for the platform was /Deano using the slight delay between his stream and the version on the Front Page to create an infinite wave.

Twitch also gave a special mention to the countless KOs and Victory Royales that have graced the platform’s screens this year.

From Elden Ring, Fortnite, Valorant and more, there’s no better good luck charm than a supportive Chat, and some of their favourite battles are certainly going down in the history books. In the wise words of /caaaaate, “ayyyeeeee, let’s goooooo”. ANZ streamers really know how to celebrate a win!

Last but not least — Twitch rounded out 2022 with a special toast to their ANZ community.

“We’ve loved creating a space for you to connect, entertain, and bring the joy of interaction to everything from games, concerts, hang-outs, watch parties, and more.

“We’re excited to continue building this unique corner of the internet with you, and see what crazy, fun-filled moments the new year has in store. GGWP! See you next year.”
