Total TV Ratings for September 22, 2021
The Block was the top non-news program in the total TV ratings with 1.486m, after increasing its overnight audience by 27%. The episode saw Josh and Luke‘s battle for their outdoor bath continue, with the pair lawyering up.
Home and Away was the top entertainment program on Seven with 1.208m (up 18%), followed closely by SAS Australia with 1.184m (up 31%) tuning in for the episode that saw Kerri Pottharst and Bonnie Anderson both decide to hand in their numbers. The season finale of RFDS had 1.019m after increasing by 45%.
The ABC’s Hard Quiz had 1.078m after increasing 11%, and Question Everything had 737,000 up gaining 14% on its overnight numbers. The series finale of Rosehaven had 888,000 after gaining a robust 48%.
Making It Australia had 501,000, after gaining 12%.

Nine has continued its dominant week with another primary channel (24.4%) and network (31.9%) win.
A Current Affair had 779,000 as the show told the story of 10 orphans rescued from Afghanistan.
The Block then had 902,000 as the teams were all facing a budget crunch, especially Kirsty and Jesse who have an extra seven spaces and only half of the $62,000 needed to complete them.
Nine then put down the tools and picked up the scapels with back to back factual reality medical shows in the form of Paramedics (593,000) and Kings Cross ER (363,000).

On Seven, Home and Away had 594,000 tuning in, this was then followed by SAS Australia with 643,000.
On SAS Australia, the 10 remaining recruits were put into pairs and directed not to leave each other’s sights for 24 hours in a lesson in teamwork. Before the casualty rescue mission that involved transporting four 70 kilogram sandbags – representing casualties – to a safe extraction point, 10 kilometres away, Isabelle Cornish and Koby Abberton withdrew from the competition. The recruits then put their lives into each other’s hands in the fall and brake task, a freefall from a 110 metre high cliff face.
With RFDS wrapping up last week, Seven aired Jumanji: The Next Level which brought in 288,000 viewers.

The Project had 306,000 (6:30pm) and 501,000 (7:00pm) as the show covered the federal government’s announcement that Covid relief payments would be coming to an end and then spoke to Kristen Bell.
Making it Australia had 289,000 as the show bid farewell to Robert, whose makeup light fixture didn’t have the finishing touches to secure his place in the competition.
The Makers were challenged with repurposing old and discarded items into functional pieces of furniture.
Rehana, repurposed an old dresser into a monster-over-the-bed bedhead for her son and was awarded her second patch of the season.
Robert turned an old piano into a dresser and makeup table for his great grandmother, who taught herself how to play the piano. While the judges loved the sentiment behind his piece, the finishing touches weren’t up to Robert’s usual standard, and he was sent home.

Hard Quiz continues to pull some of the biggest audiences the broadcaster sees every week. Last night the crowd of 577,000 saw contestants with special subjects that included Newcastle rockers Silverchair and the Working Dog movie The Castle. A week ago the series was on 623,000.
The penultimate episode of Question Everything saw Wendy Harmer as one of the guests joining Wil Anderson and Jan Fran with 424,000 watching after 429,000 last week.
The season two premiere of Frayed then did 255,000.

Viewers know Adrian Dunbar mostly for his role as Superintendent Ted Hastings in all six seasons of Line of Duty. Last night he hosted the first of the cracking two-part Coastal Ireland with Adrian Dunbar for 227,000 viewers.
It was followed by the second episode of the Jay Laga’aia hosted Lost for Words with 169,000 watching after launching on 178,000 a week ago.
