Seven

Seven won a close battle with Nine last night to finish with the top primary channel (21.7%) and network (29.9%).

Home and Away had 614,000 viewers last night as it continues to be a strong connection point between Seven News (1,162,000/1,124,000) and the 7:30pm programming.

Speaking of 7:30pm, SAS Australia‘s second episode for 2021 had 626,000 viewers as the 17 remaining recruits faced a test of courage: an aerial crossing suspended 30 metres above ground on a windy day.

Some struggled including #10 Erin Holland, who was brought in for questioning by the DS.

Later, during torturous combat drills designed to deplete them, Holland was pushed to her physical limits and buckled under the intense DS pressure, becoming the second recruit to VW.

Recruits then attempted a claustrophobic crawl through a 25-metre underground wormhole, with recruit #16 Sam Burgess taking more than 40 minutes to complete the horrifying task.

DS Ollie and Billy also questioned recruit #1, former Labor MP Emma Husar, in the Mirror Room, where she revealed being thrown under the bus – and out of parliament – over things she hadn’t done.

This was down slightly on Monday’s launch of 647,000.

Australian Gangster then followed with 340,000.

Nine

On Nine, A Current Affair had 815,000 viewers and covered a war of words between Gable Tostee (now going by Eric Thomas) and a high school teacher he met online, with both claiming harassment.

The Block had 829,000 and was the top non-news program of the evening as well as #1 in all key demos. This was down on last week’s episode which had 971,000 viewers.

In the episode, Josh and Luke discovered that they might be forced to drastically alter their bathroom when they find out it contains an illegal structure due to adding walls instead of a screen for their outdoor bath.

During the challenge, contestants were tasked with designing and building a piece for their guest bedroom using parts from old ships, like rope, wood and steering wheels. Before they can select materials, teams have to do a kayak race with one person blindfolded.

Kirsty and Jesse won and received $10,000 to add to their budget, which will help with the five rooms they are working on this week.

The Hundred with Andy Lee then followed with 412,000. The episode saw Andy Lee and his 100 guests joined by Mike Goldstein, Miranda Tapsell and Mark Humphries, with a special appearance from Martha Kalifatidis. This was down on last weeks episode which had 484,000.

10

The Project covered the dropping Covid numbers in NSW and workplaces making vaccines mandatory. The show had an average of 470,000 from 7:00pm.

On The Masked Singer, an average of 592,000 tuned in for the performances and then 676,000 watched as it was revealed George Calombaris was under the disco duster costume. Calombaris took to the stage with his take on the Ray Charles classic Shake Your Tail Feather, but it was no match to Baby’s rocking rendition of George Thorogood & The Destroyers’ Bad to the Bone. This was down on its launch audience on Monday, which had an average of 642,000 and 760,000 for the reveal.

The Cheap Seats then followed with 324,000 viewers.

ABC

Back to Nature had 295,000 viewers as the show went to Otways-Gadubanud country.

SBS

The top program on SBS last night was an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? featuring Julie Bishop with 230,000 viewers.
