Total TV Ratings, October 9
The Block was the top non-news program in the total TV ratings with an audience of 1.651m, an increase of 27% on its overnight TV ratings. The episode featured the guest bedroom reveals.
On Seven, The Bathurst 1000 had a strong audience of 1.430m tuning in for the biggest race in Australian motorsport, this was an increase of 6% on the races live audience.
Also on Seven, the first episode of Australia’s Got Talent had 1.136m, an increase of 18%.
On 10, the finale of The Amazing Race Australia had an average of 628,000 viewers (up 29%) with 744,000 (up 28%) to see Heath and Toni make it to the Pit Stop mat first, winning a $250,000 cash prize and an Isuzu D-MAX and an Isuzu MU-X.

Nine had a comfortable win in the TV ratings last night after producing both the top primary channel share with 20.9% and the top network share with 32.9%. The Block was the top program of the night with 970,000 viewers tuning in for the Guest Bedroom and Redo Room reveals. This was followed by 60 Minutes with 530,000 viewers as the episode saw Tara Brown follow up the mysterious disappearance of backpacker Théo Hayez.
On Seven, Australia’s Got Talent had 556,000 viewers as it kicked off its second week, this follows the 645,000 that the show had for its launch last week. The documentary Murder in the Goldfields then followed with 245,000 viewers.
On 10, the debut of The Traitors had 257,000 viewers as Millie was ‘murdered’ and Jack was banished in dramatic scenes from the Rodger Corser hosted series.
On the ABC, Spicks and Specks continues to be a steady performer for the public broadcaster with 490,000 tuning in. Signifcant Others also did well with 360,000.
The top non-news program on SBS was Curse of the Ancients with 139,000.
