TV Ratings May 24, 2022:MasterChef wins time slot as fans tuna in

Total TV Ratings, May 17

Travel Guides was the top entertainment program in the total TV ratings with 1,006,000 viewers, an increase of 27%.  The episode didn’t take viewers far, as the guides went to Sydney. 

Home and Away was the top entertainment program for Seven with an audience of 985,000 (up 20%), while Big Brother brought in 857,000 viewers for the broadcaster, an increase of 48%.

The top program on 10 for the night was MasterChef Australia with 827,000, up 20%. The episode saw Minoli eliminated after a Pressure Test by Alla Wolf-Tasker that saw the contestants cook summer cucumbers with murray cod, without a recipe.

Nine was the top primary channel for Tuesday night with a winning share of 18.1%. However, it was unable to achieve the clean sweep with Seven having the top network share of the night with 26.7%, after registering the two top multichannels in 7TWO (4.3%) and 7mate (3.8%). 

For Nine, Celebrity Apprentice had 401,000 tune in for its third episode of the season. The episode featured the celebs creating and executing their own wellness retreat. When all was said and done Lord Sugar chose Jodi Gordon as the celebrity to be fired due to her poor customer feedback in the challenge. 

Matt Wright’s Wild Territory then followed with the popular adventure program bringing in 203,000 viewers.

On Seven, Home and Away was the top primetime entertainment program, bringing in 465,000 viewers. At 7:30pm, Big Brother had 327,000 viewers as a friendship began to fracture between Tim and Drew. The Good Doctor then followed with 214,000 viewers.

On 10, MasterChef Australia was the top rating prime time entertainment program with 481,000 watching as Melanie was sent home after facing the challenge of Josh Niland‘s tuna wellington. MasterChef was the top entertainment program in all key demographics, despite being down on last week’s 513,000 viewers.

The Cheap Seats continued its strong return for the year with 325,000 viewers, winning its timeslot and finishing in the top five for the 16-39 demo. 

On the ABC, Space 22 had 245,000 tune in for its second episode before Family Court Murders had 249,000 watch the series’ third episode.

The top program on SBS was Great British Railway Journeys with 215,000 viewers.
