• MAFS’ dinner party drama continues to deliver for Nine
• ABC continues to offer the laughs on Wednesday nights
Total TV Ratings, March 9
Married at First Sight (MAFS) continues to dominate the total TV ratings, this time breaking the 2m mark with 2.038m viewers, making it easily the top program of the night. The episode saw the fifth dinner party of the season as tensions were still high between Domenica, Carolina, and Olivia following the couple’s retreat which resulted in more yelling and a fake apology (Olivia).
Hard Quiz had 941,000 viewers, up 13%, while Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell had 796,000, up 22%.
Home and Away was the top program for Seven with 991,000, up 23%. This was followed by The Front Bar with 563,000, up 13%.

Nine continues to rack up weekday wins after edging out the #1 primary channel (24.7%) and network (33.1%) share. The main contributor to this win was Married at First Sight (MAFS) which was the top program of the evening with 930,000 as well as being #1 in all key demos.
The episode featured the sixth dinner party of the year, and finally aired the hyped nude photo scandal involving Domenica and Olivia. The episode was down on last week’s 1.015m viewers.
Under Investigation with Liz Hayes then followed with 396,000, which was up on last week’s 356,000.
On Seven, the AFL kicked off its 2022 season with a grand final rematch between the Melbourne Demons and the Western Bulldogs. The match had 548,000 viewers as the Demons won the rematch with 333,000 tuning in from Melbourne making it the top broadcast of the night in that market.
The Front Bar then followed with 360,000 viewers.
On 10, The Project had 254,000 (6:30pm) and 317,000 (7:30pm) as the show covered the renting crisis in Australia, and spoke to Ed Sheeran. The double episode of Ambulance Australia then had 272,000 and 212,000 viewers.
On the ABC, Hard Quiz (453,000) and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (387,000) continue to perform well for the broadcaster as it offers a comedy alternative to viewers.
The top non-news program on SBS was Lose a Stone in 21 days with Micheal Mosley with 145,000 viewers.
