TV Ratings June 21, 2022: MasterChef has 99 ingredients & a bad night ain’t one

Total TV Ratings, June 14

Home and Away was the top entertainment program in the total TV ratings with 990,000 viewers tuning in for the Aussie soap. This was an increase of 22% on its overnight ratings. BVOD darling Big Brother followed with 774,000, an increase of 44%. 

MasterChef Australia was the top program for 10 and #1 in the 7:30pm timeslot with an audience of 907,000 (up 20%). The episode saw the chefs get to make their own pressure tests. The celebs had to create and run their own pet photography studio, with Bronte Campbell ultimately going home.

On Nine, Celebrity Apprentice had 708,000 viewers, an increase of 24%.

Nine was the top primary channel (19.3%) and network (26.8%) last night thanks to A Current Affair (678,000) and the finale of the Celebrity Apprentice (459,000). Celebrity Apprentice had 594,000 tune in for the winner announcement as ex-NRL star Benji Marshall was crowned the winner after raising $387,105 (plus an extra $100,000 for winning) for his charity, Souths Cares.

On Seven, Home and Away was the top primetime entertainment program with 429,000 viewers tuning in. This was followed by Big Brother with 313,000 viewers as Jaycee and Aleisha stuffed up their shopping task. 

On 10, MasterChef was the top entertainment program of the night with an average of 583,000 viewers.  The program was also #1 in all key demos as Montana was sent home after taking on Khanh Nguyen’s seafood plate which had 99 ingredients, 143 steps and a 13-page recipe.  The Cheap Seats then followed with a strong 429,000, finishing #2 in the 16-39 demo.

On the ABC, Bluey continues to punch above its weight despite being on a multichannel, with the smash hit being the top non-news program for the public broadcaster yesterday with 349,000. In primetime, Space 22 had 206,000 viewers before the premiere of Southern Oceans Live had 236,000.

The top program on SBS was the returning Who Do You Think You Are? with 370,000 viewers. The episode featured famed Aussie actor, Simon Baker.
