Total TV Ratings, June 6

10’s Have You Been Paying Attention? was the top entertainment program in the total TV ratings with 1,097,000 viewers, an increase of 24%. MasterChef Australia was the next best program for 10 with 899,000 viewers, up 17% as the cooks set the kitchen alight in a challenge to cook with fire.

On Seven, Big Brother Australia had 846,000 viewers after increasing by 46%. The episode saw the housemates wake up to an unwelcome surprise, with hackers taking complete control of the house. 

On Nine, Celebrity Apprentice had 690,000 viewers, up 27% as the celebrities took to the water in a challenge that appeared to be about throwing a bucks’ and hens’ celebration on Sydney harbour.

Nine has won a close Monday night after securing a primary channel share of 18.4% and a network share of 26.5%, which were both #1 for the evening. 

A Current Affair had a strong audience of 688,000 as the program unmasked an accused serial wedding crasher who allegedly stole $16,000 in gifts from brides and grooms. Celebrity Apprentice then followed with 423,000 viewers which was up on last Monday’s 386,000. The episode featured an appearance by The Inspired Unemployed as the celebs had to conceive, script, shoot and edit a short-form piece of content. The episode saw boardroom regular Turia Pitt fired.

On Seven, The AFL’s The Big Freeze had 423,000 afternoon viewers which led into a strong 563,000 for the public holiday AFL clash between Collingwood and Melbourne. In primetime, Home and Away kicked off its week with 458,000 viewers before Big Brother followed with 363,000 viewers as one of the format’s legends, Dave, was sent home.

On 10, MasterChef Australia had 577,000 viewers as it won its timeslot and was #2 in the 16-39 demographic. The episode saw Billie win the mystery box challenge with her fish pie. Have You Been Paying Attention? then followed with 631,000 viewers, which made it the top entertainment program of the night. The episode was #1 in all key demos and featured Guy Montgomery, Celia Pacquola, Tony Martin, Anne Edmonds and Sam Pang.

On the ABC, Australian Story featuring Leah Purcell had 492,000 viewers before Four Corners followed with 438,000, and then Media Watch with 364,000 viewers.

The top non-news program on SBS was saving lives at sea with 116,000 viewers.
