TV Ratings February 25, 2022: Seven edges out Nine in close night

• The NRL pre-season continues to light up Foxtel’s schedule

Total TV Ratings, February 18

The top entertainment program in the total TV ratings was the ABC’s Van Der Valk which had 754,000 viewers, an increase of 32%. The #2 entertainment program was also from the ABC. as Gardening Australia had 728,000 viewers up 18%.

Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens was the top entertainment program on the commercial networks with 670,000, up 6%. Also on Seven, the Winter Olympic’s top segment for the day came in the night session with 514,000 viewers. 

Overnight TV Ratings, February 25

Seven snagged a Friday win last night in both primary (19.1%) and network (27.3%) share, thanks to a combination of its prime time news bulletin (920,000/850,000), The Chase Australia (466,000), and Better Homes and Gardens (444,000).

On Nine, A Current Affair had 527,000 viewers as the program spoke to Senator Jim Molan about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. David Attenborough’s Green Planet then came on in prime time with 343,000 viewers.

On 10, The Project had 241,000 (6:30pm) and 294,000 (7:00pm) as the show discussed the continued invasion of Ukraine and spoke to rock n roll legend Slash. The Graham Norton Show then had 278,000 viewers as the episode featured Andrew Garfield, Dawn French, Channing Tatum, Rob Beckett, Johannes Radebe and Natalie Imbruglia.

The ABC once again put out its strong combo of Gardening Australia (419,000), followed by Van Der Valk (418,000).

The top non-news program on SBS was The Lakes with Simon Reeve which had 92,000 viewers.

The NRL Pre-Season continues to light up Foxtel as two more games landed on its schedule last night. The ratings were led by the Sydney Roosters playing the Wests Tigers which had 126,000 viewers, this was followed by the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles taking on the Canberra Raiders which had 100,000.
