Nine enjoyed a comfortable win in the TV ratings survey last night, as the broadcaster had both the #1 primary channel (27.8%) and network share (34.4%). The foundation of this result was The Block which was the highest rating program of the night with 984,000 tuning in for the first room reveal of the year. This was up on last Sunday’s launch episode, which had 867,000.
60 Minutes then followed with 527,000 viewers, while earlier, the NRL match between the Gold Coast Titans and Maly Warringah Sea Eagles had 193,000 viewers.
On Seven, My Kitchen Rules had 500,000 viewers, which was only slightly down on last week’s launch of 503,000, a solid result for the returning show. The episode saw Arrnott and Fuzz serve their Fijian heritage on a plate. The flavours of the Pacific were well reviewed, but the team’s choice of fish for their entrée hindered their final score. 7NEWS Spotlight then paid tribute to the life of Dame Olivia Newton-John in a special event episode with 398,000 viewers. Earlier in the day, Seven’s afternoon AFL coverage had 408,000 tune in.
On 10, The Masked Singer had an average audience of 437,000 viewers, before 549,000 tuned in for the reveal that Jamie Durie was under the Tiger mask. Earlier, The Project had 239,000 (6:30pm) and 369,000 (7pm) tune in for its first episode of the week,
On the ABC, Spicks and Specks had 483,000 viewers for its second episode of the year.
The top no-news program on SBS was a repeat of The Treasure of Greece with 113,000.
