Stranger Things season four has made a clean sweep of the TV demand charts in its first week on screens. The Netflix original has come in a whooping 45.32 points above the market average in Australia and 28.81 points above average in New Zealand.

After nearly three long years since the release of season three in July 2019, the new season is packaged in two parts. Volume one premiered on May 27 and volume two will follow on July 1.

The first part consisted of seven action-packed episodes and saw the return of all the original Stranger Things cast including, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink.

Our Flag Means Death has claimed the second spot in Australia’s digital originals with 23.82 points as a second season has officially been confirmed.

 

In a statement about Our Flag Means Death’s renewal, series creator David Jenkins expressed gratitude to the show’s fandom for its support and commitment to the unexpected romance at the centre of the first season.

“We felt the show was special while we were making it, but fans’ open-armed embrace of the inhabitants of the Revenge makes heading into a second season all the more sweet,”

“Thanks to our team at HBO Max, our invested executive producers, and our wildly enthusiastic audience for making another voyage to this world possible,” he said.

Better Call Saul was the second most-watched show in both Australia’s and New Zealand’s overall TV shows, with 27.04 and 22.94 points respectively.

The Mandalorian placed third in Australia’s digital originals with 22.01 points above average and 13.97 points in New Zealand.

In New Zealand, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds came in second in the digital charts and third in the overall charts with 18.75 points above average.
