Toyota Australia announced Vin Naidoo as the new head of marketing.
His appointment as chief marketing officer comes after a two-year international stint in Singapore as the general manager of sales and marketing operations with Toyota Motor Asia-Pacific.
Naidoo’s return to Toyota Australia comes as the company completes its 25th year as the country’s best-selling automotive brand.
He said: “My focus – and that of my team – will be to articulate Toyota’s compelling vision as a mobility company, connecting everyone with the freedom to move and be moved.”
“This will require even deeper collaboration across all parts of our business as we navigate the once-in-a-century transformations occurring simultaneously in connectivity, autonomy, sharing and electrification,” he said.
“We will communicate the unique benefits to customers of Toyota’s industry-leading vehicles and services.
“We will also build on our success by accelerating innovation in the spirit of continuous improvement, which is a cornerstone of our company culture,” he added.
Naidoo joined Toyota Australia in 2022 after graduating from Melbourne University in mechanical engineering. He then went on to complete an MBA at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Sydney.
Naidoo has worked in a number of positions during his time at Toyota, including after-sales, product planning, national fleet, and NSW regional operations.
Between 2013 and his move to Singapore, he was also part of the Lexus Australia, which included three years as head of marketing.
Naidoo takes over the role from John Pappas, who has been promoted to chief executive at Lexus Australia.
Last year, Foxtel Media was announced Toyota Australia as the primary partner for Kayo’s new sport offering, Kayo Local, which adds local state sports competitions across Australia to its library, available to stream live and on-demand.
