The Hallway has launched a creative recruitment drive for talent in advertising as the agency goes through a period of rapid growth.
While finding talent is getting easier, the market is still tight and the Pyrmont-based agency is using its location to find the right people.
Located on Australia’s most densely populated street of advertising agencies, Harris St – The Hallway is situated alongside OMD, Enero, PHD, Publicis Groupe and TBWA, as well as one of the industry’s favourite lunch spots and a local institution, Banh-mi Co.
As neighbours to Banh-mi Co, the full-service advertising agency has leveraged that proximity to reach talent in search of new opportunities.
So rather than poaching, The Hallway thought it would be worth speaking directly to those people to see if they want another role via the iconic roll.
Banh-mi Co’s sandwich bag has been emblazoned with “want another roll” and a QR code showing The Hallway’s logo at the bottom.
When interested people scan the QR code, they are taken to a dedicated microsite where they are met with a video of a talking banh-mi that explains the clever recruitment drive.
People visiting the site can also learn more about The Hallway and its current open roles – such as strategists, designers and producers.
The Hallway’s clever recruitment drive comes after The Hallway and The Marketing Academy launched mentoring website, The Scoop, last year.
The website is a forum for the next generation of industry leaders to share the experiences, insights, and career advice of established industry experts.
The microsite is a de facto mentorship directory, providing an opportunity to connect with creative, media and marketing leaders who share their career experiences and thoughts on how to break into the industry.
Young people looking to get into the industry can view leaders’ profiles, learn from their responses, reach out to connect via LinkedIn, and check out their organisation’s careers pages.
