Optus launches SubHub for customers to manage multiple content subscriptions

SubHub killer feature: Manage three subs or more and get 10% discount

Optus has launched SubHub which can simplify content subscriptions and memberships by putting them in one place and allowing eligible Optus customers to save money and discover new content options.

The great attraction of using SubHub is that it offers users a 10% discount on managed subscriptions if they have three or more. Two subs gets users a 5% discount.

At a launch event this morning, Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin said the company was attempting to get all content subscription platforms on the service. However the 4m+ Foxtel Group customers won’t be able to manage their Foxtel, Binge and Kayo subs on SubHub given that Telstra is a Foxtel Group shareholder.

Kelly Bayer Rosmarin is upbeat though, adding this morning, “I don’t know why every Australian isn’t an Optus customer.”

Optus TV, content and product development VP, Clive Dickens said: “The pitch is simple – in an increasingly complex and growing universe of digital content subscriptions, our customers tell us that they find it hard to keep track of exactly what subscriptions they have, are active, and how much they pay for them.”

Dickens noted there are over 50 content subscription platforms in Australia. Around 30 of them are for video content.

When asked about Foxtel and Stan, Dickens dodged a direct reply, saying Optus is in discussion with all platforms and hopes they will join soon.

“With SubHub, we have turned the table on complexity with a single platform allowing customers to bundle their multiple new and existing subscriptions, enjoy them as they need them and pause them when they don’t, with just a few clicks.”

Customers will be able to access their content subscriptions and digital memberships through Optus’ leading My Optus App and www.SubHub.com.au.

Dickens added: “We’re upping the ante on simplicity and value by reducing customers’ content subscription costs through SubHub – which is great news if you want to save money, and even better news if you want to avoid subscription FOMO and subscribe to even more must-have content – but may not have previously been able to justify it.”
