oOh!media and ARN’s GOLD Network are putting media inventory and airtime behind Head and Neck Cancer Australia’s Lend Your Voice campaign, with EAR Studio providing creative support as the charity says it works towards a $1 million fundraising target.

The in-kind push spans Out of Home, radio and creative, aiming to extend the charity’s reach ahead of The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend – The Celebration Concert at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, 20 September.

Media partners put platforms behind the appeal

EAR Studio developed the campaign creative, while oOh!media is running the work across its national Office and Retail network.

ARN’s GOLD Network is supporting the campaign with community service announcements and in-show activity across The Christian O’Connell Show and Jonesy & Amanda.

Head and Neck Cancer Australia chief executive officer Nadia Rosin said the media support was helping the charity reach audiences beyond its usual channels.

“Our media and industry partners are helping us put head and neck cancer in front of audiences we could not otherwise reach. Their support gives us an opportunity to explain the impact of this disease and ask Australians to help,” she said.

“We are grateful to the partners lending their platforms, skills and time to help more Australians understand head and neck cancer and the need to support people affected by it.”

Campaign builds on Farnham concert

The campaign is linked to the sold-out The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend – The Celebration Concert, which will celebrate the music of Australian singer John Farnham. Farnham will not perform at the event.

Head and Neck Cancer Australia says more than 5,600 Australians are diagnosed with head and neck cancer each year, while around 18,000 people are living with its long-term impacts.

Money raised through Lend Your Voice will support free access to specialist nurses, counselling and trusted information, alongside the charity’s advocacy for earlier diagnosis, better care and improved outcomes.

Rosin said Farnham’s public experience with the disease had created an opportunity to build greater awareness.

“John Farnham’s openness about his experience has helped bring attention to a disease that can have profound and lasting effects,” she said.

“Our partners are helping us build on that awareness. Over the next year, we want to turn it into ongoing support for patients and families, and we welcome other organisations that would like to get involved.”
