Network 10 has announced a six-part behind-the-scenes documentary following the most recent NBL season to air on 10 Play from September 18.
NBL22: Next Level will take viewers into the locker rooms of NBL teams and will take a deep dive into the details of the Sydney Kings’ historic championship win. The series will also look at the underdog victory story the Tasmania JackJumpers’ rise to the NBL Grand Final and the historic end to the Perth Wildcat’s domineering 35-year finals streak.
The documentary is a raw and rare look into the lives and struggles of the players, from the sacrifices players make to an inside look into how betting markets, the media and the game are interconnected to create one of the most dramatic seasons of Australian basketball yet.
The 2022/23 season of the Hungry Jack’s NBL season starts on October 1, with 18 rounds to be played over four months.

•Christmas Eve: 36ers vs Phoenix – December 24, 2022
•Christmas Day: Kings vs United – December 25, 2022
•Boxing Day: JackJumpers vs Breakers – December 26, 2022
•New Year’s Eve: Hawks vs Wildcats and Taipans vs 36ers – December 31, 2022
•New Year’s Day: JackJumpers vs Phoenix and Bullets v United – January 1, 2023
•Australia Day: Bullets v Breakers – January 26, 2023
The series will also shine a spotlight on NBA draftees Ousmane Dieng, Hugo Besson and Luke Travers. The doco was filmed during one of NBL’s most successful years yet, with an average TV audience up by 12 per cent and total attendance at games up 17 per cent.
All six episodes of NBL22: Next Level will be available from Sunday, September 18 at 8 pm AEST on 10 Play.
10 Peach and 10 Play will take viewers courtside to the biggest matches of the 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL season, with two back-to-back matches each week on Sunday Hoops live from 2.00 pm AEST.
