The 2015 Melbourne Cup has galloped its way into the top five most-talked about sporting event of the year on Twitter, according to Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings.
The race had over 7.7 million tweet impressions across Twitter and the web.
At it’s peak, the event generated 490 tweets per minute with tweets from former prime minister Julia Gillard, the current prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, ABC News, The SMH and The Age performing well. See the interactive graph by clicking here.
