It’s been something of a landmark year for Ten Network, the third-placed player in a field of three. Under the guidance of former CFO Anderson the business returned to the black, albeit with a modest profit – EBITDA of $4.5 million for 2016 after a 2015 loss of $12.0 million. Revenues for 2016 were up 7.5%. In a busy end to the year Anderson oversaw the reveal of what looks like a stronger 2017 schedule, took part with his FTA CEO colleagues in the ReThinkTV marketing forum and outlined his vision to shareholders at the recent AGM. During the year Foxtel became a Ten investor while Ten took a stake of 25% in MCN and Anderson joined their board. All the tenplay metrics soared again and the broadcaster is launching tendaily for mobile-first short-form content.
