Fans can watch Thursday Night Footy on Fox for the whole 2021 season as well as watching the future stars of the game with VFL games being broadcast on Thursday nights from tonight, Thursday April 22nd.
It all begins when GWS Giants take on Footscray from Blacktown in Sydney from 7pm on Fox Footy.
Hosted by Kath Loughnan, Anthony Hudson and Leigh Montagna will call all the action alongside Brad Johnson in special comments and Cameron Mooney direct from the ground on the boundary. The expert panel will preview the AFL round ahead as well celebrate grassroots footy at its best.
All eyes tonight will be on the number one draft pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan as the Bulldogs go for back-to-back wins against a winless GWS.
Steve Crawley, Fox Sports executive director said “We are thrilled to be able to bring VFL footy to a whole new audience in 2021 via Foxtel and Kayo, with more coverage than ever before.
“The expert Fox Footy team will be covering every Thursday night match as well as the Finals, with fans able to watch live on Foxtel or stream on Kayo. In a major boost, Kayo will also produce a minimum of two additional matches per round which will be streamed live and free on Kayo Freebies.
“VFL plays a major role not only as a feeder league to the AFL, but also in keeping community footy clubs engaged, so we’re excited to make more matches accessible to dedicated footy fans across the country.”
Fox Footy on Foxtel will also present two-three VFL games every round on Kayo Freebies (no paywall) and show all finals including the grand final. Thursday night AFL games will return in round 13.
Earlier this month, Foxtel Media announced that Toyota Australia is the primary partner for Kayo’s new sport offering, Kayo Local, which adds local state sports competitions across Australia to its library, available to stream live and on-demand.
