New Australian reality series, The Bridge Australia, is coming to Paramount+ on Friday, August 19.
Narrated by renowned Australian actor Hugo Weaving, the adventure series will see 12 strangers meet at a cabin deep in Tasmania’s untamed wilderness for a chance to win $250,000.
The 12 contestants must work together with nothing but their bare hands and basic tools to build a 330-metre-long bridge in 17 days.
Each week, we’ll witness power struggles and personal transformations as a dozen adventurers battle the elements – and each other – to build The Bridge to victory.
In the first look, catch a glimpse of how the builders grapple with not only the best approach for the build, but also one last minor detail. Whoever is chosen to cross the bridge ultimately decides who keeps the cash. Will they share it with the group or keep it for themselves?
Daniel Monaghan, senior vice president, content and programming, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, said: “The Bridge is a fantastic series that we are thrilled to bring to the Australian market.
“Teaming up with Endemol Shine Australia will ensure this is the very definition of event television.”
Endemol Shine Australia CEO, Peter Newman, said: “Australians have a huge appetite for adventure and social game, and we couldn’t be more delighted to serve up this ground-breaking format.
“The Bridge is a physical and mental ordeal with an electrifying social experiment at its core … and an endgame unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. If there’s one show to binge on in 2022, it’s The Bridge.”
