2016 news highlights: Julie Hosking

When Anne Richards agreed to share the story of her son’s depression and ultimate suicide, to help raise awareness for Youth Focus, we were in no doubt about the responsibility to do it justice. This was a deeply personal story but also one that is sadly part of many people’s lives. It is powerful, beautifully written, and one of many features West Weekend has done over the years to break down the stigma of mental illness, encourage people to seek help, and hopefully prevent another family suffering such a tragedy.
