Emotive has announced the appointment of Paul Sharp as creative director.
His appointment commences on Monday, 11th April.
Sharp joins the independent creative agency, effective Monday, 11th April, after five years at VCCP Sydney where he was creative director for clients including ING, Cadbury NZ, and Compare the Market.
He previously worked in London and held a number of creative leadership roles in Sydney including The Monkeys as creative lead, and at Leo Burnett as senior art director.
Michael Hogg, managing partner and head of strategy said: “Like many of the best creatives I’ve worked with, Sharpie can’t help creating. Beyond his love of ideas, he’s an impeccable art director and an eclectic reference collector.
“And as a good mate, while it pains me to say such nice things about him, I’m genuinely excited by what he can do as part of Emotive,” Hogg added.
Alongside advertising, Sharp channels his creative energies into various ongoing projects including environmental initiatives (working with long-time friend and collaborator Laura Clarke of Palau Pledge), and art ventures.
Sharp said of his appointment: “It’s time to swap the mean streets of Surry Hills for the azure allure of the ocean.
“Emotive are on an exciting trajectory and I’m thrilled to be joining such a super-charged bunch, with such varying talents and such great momentum. There must be something in the Coogee water,” he added.
Simon Joyce, CEO and founder, said: “Sharpie is joining Emotive at an exciting time, as we welcomed six new clients in 2021 and are set to open the doors to our new HQ on Coogee Beach in May.
“With great work in the pipeline and more hires to announce shortly across creative, strategy, creative amplification, account management and production, 2022 is looking big and exciting.”
