American anthology television series American Horror Story is set to return for its eighth instalment, American Horror Story: Apocalypse. The show will screen on showcase from September 13 at 8.30pm (AEST), express from the US. It will also be available to stream on Foxtel Now.
The new 10-part season of the cult series, set in the near-distant future, is the long-awaited crossover of season one’s Murder House and season three’s Coven.
The cast this season includes series regulars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, as well as returning cast members Jessica Lange and Adina Porter. Rock singer Stevie Nicks will also feature, alongside Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy. They all starred in Coven. Actors Billie Lourd, Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Grossman from last season’s Cult are also confirmed to join.
Australian actor Cody Fern, who played David Madson in the Emmy-nominated FX series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, will appear for the first time in the series, along with Hollywood royalty Joan Collins and actor Billy Porter, who also starred in Ryan Murphy’s critically acclaimed FX series Pose.
American Horror Story is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning franchise and is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.
The series is co-created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. They also serve as executive producers on the show with Tim Minear, James Wong and Alexis Martin Woodall.
