TV ratings: Seven
Seven’s narrow TV ratings lead as the #1 Saturday primary TV channel is thanks to the Harry Potter franchise with the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first of the movies released in 2001. The movie had an audience of 326,000.
Nine
Nine had a narrow network lead at 6pm with Nine News on 904,000 which was followed by A Current Affair Saturday on 632,000.
Nine’s Saturday movie was the sixth instalment in the Transformer film franchise, Bumblebee, with 257,000 watching.
Nine’s #1 network share was helped by the Wallabies v Argentina clash which started late afternoon with the second half running well into primetime. The metro audience for the game was 264,000, perhaps surprisingly marginally down on the 269,000 watching a week ago when game one was up against the AFL Grand Final.
10
10 News First continued as the channel’s most-watched Saturday show with 288,000.
Two episodes of The Dog House were the next best with audiences of 250,000 and 231,000.
ABC
The Durrells has finally run its course with the channel finding a new franchise the 7.30pm slot. That show is another British-made period drama in Grantchester. The start of season six saw 471,000 watching, a big increase on what The Durrells has been managing for some time. Grantchester was not up against any live football though.
The crime drama Shetland then returned too with body parts on the beach making for a gruesome start for the audience of 275,000.
SBS
The new episode of Celebrity Letters and Numbers drew the biggest crowd with 209,000 watching at 7.30pm.
