Shaun Burgoyne and David Attenborough the big Saturday drawcards

Viewing on primary channels drifted below 60% the Saturday night TV ratings show. That compares to the average Week 27 split just over two thirds watching primary channels.

Sport was a driver to multichannels last night with 7mate on 7.7% thanks to Perth viewers watching the Fremantle Dockers in action.

Go! and Gem both performed well for Nine too – Go! Was on 5.1% thanks to the movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, while Gem was showing tennis from Wimbledon.

Seven

Seven had a small lead over Nine with 445,000 watching Saturday Night Football which featured the 400th game for Hawthorn’s Shaun Burgoyne. Port Adelaide spoiled the evening a little though as they trounced Hawthorn.

Seven News was the most-watched Saturday show on 905,000.

The football pre-show also did well with 303,000 watching the tributes for Shaun Burgoyne ahead of his milestone match.

Nine

David Attenborough’s Life in Colour on 389,000 managed to outrate last week’s final episode of Perfect Planet.

Later in the night The Equalizer was on 275,000.

10

A tough night for the channel with a primary share of 5.7%.

The only show to crack 300,000 was 10 News First with 329,000 after 5pm.

Later in the evening a repeat of The Dog House was on 256,000.

ABC

The Durrells was again just above 300,000. It seems like the ABC Friday and Saturday combo of Vera and The Durrells have been running for ages. Hopefully some first run drama might soon replace them.

Later in the night Sanditon was close to last week’s number with 223,000.

SBS

Stage 8 started the second week of the Tour de France and live coverage of the leg had an audience of 179,000 watching.

Earlier in the night Walking Britain’s Lost Railways was on 160,000.
