The first Friday night AFL match of the season has pushed Seven to its highest primary channel and network TV ratings shares of the year. The metro audience for the first appearance of Collingwood in 2021 (and their first loss) was 668,000 – and 886,000 national on Seven and 7mate.
After an AFL-free Friday saw Nine on 19.3% on Friday a week ago, Nine’s primary share last night slipped to 16.7%. The NRL audience watching the Titans take on the Broncos was 345,000 (527,000 national).
In other Friday night ratings, Seven News maintained its clear metro leadership at 6pm. Other usual suspects in Friday TV ratings continuing to perform well were Vera on 438,000, Gardening Australia on 424,000.
Better Homes and Gardens audiences had to navigate its broadcast on Seven and 7TWO, something that 398,000 managed.
