We Are Social welcomes three senior hires to its creative department

We Are Social

The new hires follow a period of growth for the Sydney-based creative agency

We Are Social is strengthening its creative offering with the appointment of its new head of design and a senior creative team.

Pete Majarich, head of design, will support the socially-led creative agency’s growing design, editorial and creative teams, focusing on further elevating the design craft. He is a multifaceted talent, having worked as an art director, copywriter, film director and occasional drone pilot.

Majarich has spent his advertising career working between Australia and the US, at Crispin Porter + Bogusky first, then freelancing with top agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Host/Havas, Vandal, JWT, R/GA and Bear Meets Eagle On Fire. He has collaborated with brands such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, Nike, Coca Zero and McDonald’s, and his work has been recognised by One Show, Cannes Lions, Clios, and featured in-book at D&AD.

Joining the growing bench of creative talent is also a new senior creative team. Laura Brown, senior art director, and Tom Bradbeer, senior copywriter, who have been working as a team for five years, helping clients such as Tourism Australia, BWS, Commonwealth Bank, Minderoo, TAB, Westfield, Jaguar, Mastercard, and many more.

They specialise in blending new technology with innovative thinking, and their work has been recognised with many awards including Spikes Asia, Clios, One Show, NY Festival, and Effies.

These new hires follow a period of growth for the Sydney-based creative agency, with a series of new client wins including Binge, Moet Hennessy, Mastercard, Hello and Rockit, and the launch of We Are Social Gaming, a specialised offering designed to help brands craft meaningful and effective experiences in gaming and esports environments.

Ben Clare, We Are Social’s ECD, said: “I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Pete, Tom and Laura to We Are Social. Although Pete’s joined as Head of Design, it feels like somewhat of a misnomer to me such is his versatility. He’s an empathic creative thinker who truly embodies our purpose in creating ‘ideas worth talking about’.

“I’m pumped to see him already becoming an amazing mentor to our creative and design teams. He’s such a lovely guy, and a formidable addition to our creative offering.

“Equally, Laura and Tom bring proven award-winning thinking, and a wonderful outlook towards what’s possible at the intersection of technology and culture,” he said.

“For me, they have the mettle, energy and ambition – and in Tom’s case, a rather enviable moustache – to do great things here. Aside from being great company at the pub, they represent a new era of creative thinkers and makers who work in new media for new types of audiences,” Clare added.
