Nine’s The Block turned into utter chaos as Eliza and Kristy engaged in a heated confrontation after the kitchen and laundry reveal. When Kristy failed to congratulate Eliza and Liberty on their win (after they whipped out their secret gnome), Eliza confronted Kristy for continuing her rant that the sisters from Melbourne were being favoured by the judges. 844,000 tuned in. Then on 60 Minutes, 484,000 watched as a brave Australian woman retold her terrifying encounter with accused sex predator, Russell Brand; plus Tara Brown travelled to see the wonderful British comedian, Dawn French, who wanted everyone to know she’s a failure.

606,000 began their evening with Seven’s The Voice as an electrifying showdown saw four incredible artists secure their spot in the Grand Finale. Ezra Williams from Team Jess, Tarryn Stokes from Team Rita, Charlie Pittman from Team Guy and Ethan Beckton from Team Jason will now compete for the crown. Elsewhere, coach Guy Sebastian performed his new single, I Choose Good. Then, 268,000 and 175,000 tuned in for two more episodes of Con Girl. In the first episode, French traveller Lucie was embroiled in a child kidnapping case in Sydney after being conned by Samantha Azzopardi while in the second instalment, Azzopardi is running multiple cons simultaneously and taking bigger risks.

162,000 watched ABC’s Voices of Australia. During the episode, Bridget Brennan looked at Victoria’s First People’s Assembly and the progress on a Treaty. Death in Paradise followed for 364,000 as Neville’s attempts to embrace island life backfired when a sandfly bite landed him in hospital. His time on the ward took a shocking turn when a nurse took her own life during a night shift. An all-new episode of The Newsreader was up next for 293,000. With international stock markets in freefall, Helen was plunged into crisis when a gossip columnist threatened to expose her troubled past. 94,000 fans then watched an encore of Mother and Son.
On 10, The Sunday Project (161,000 (6:30pm) / 182,000 (7pm) ) welcomed INXS band member Andrew Farriss to the desk. The panel also spoke with Aussie entertainer Kamhal who has spent many “sleepless nights” thinking about how he would vote in The Voice referendum, revealing where he is standing at the moment. Then, on a repeat of Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, 127,000 tuned in to see dog whisperer Graeme Hall met an Aussie cattle dog with a rather unusual quirk and a Maltese Shih Tzu with the jitters. Plus, Australian Survivor star King George Mladenov put Graeme’s training to the test. FBI then followed for 129,000.
The highest-rating non-news show on SBS was Megastructures: Knight’s Templar Castles. 126,000 tuned in to see how The Templars, the most fascinating religious and military order of the Middle Ages, were born. Thanks to recent archaeological research, spectacular 3D reconstruction, and the testimonies of international experts, the series revealed the secret building techniques of the Knights Templars.
