Total TV Ratings, 4 March
Gardening Australia continues to perform well for the ABC, reaching a total TV audience of 756,000 and a lift of 16%, making it the top entertainment program of the evening. Van Der Valk had the highest lift on overnight with 27%, bringing in a total TV audience of 733,000 and giving ABC the two most-watched total TV entertainment programs.
Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens was the second most-watched entertainment program with an audience of 734,000, an increase of 4%.
Overnight TV Ratings, March 11
It was a close game between the primary share channels with Nine clocking a 21.9% share, followed by Seven with 21.2%. Despite the narrow win, Nine was able to confidently take out the network share win with 32.4%, followed again by Seven with 29.7%.
The second night of the NRL kicked off with Nine’s live coverage of Friday Night NRL bringing in 370,000 metro viewers, 212,000 regional viewers and was the fourth most-watched program amongst 16-39 year-olds.
The match between Brisbane Broncos and the South Sydney Rabbitohs brought in a Sydney audience of 182,000 and a Brisbane audience of 152,000 as the Broncos took the win with 11-4 at Lang Park.
The top non-new program of the night was Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens with a combined metro and regional audience of 687,000, followed by The Chase Australia with a combined viewership of 656,000.
Channel 10’s top non-news program was The Bold and The Beautiful, clocking 141,000 views.
The series premiere of UK psychological thriller, The Teacher aired on ABC, bringing in a metro audience of 236,000. The series follows Jenna (Sheridan Smith), a teacher whose life unravels after being accused of having a drunken sexual encounter with one of her pupils.
Gardening Australia was ABC’s highest non-news program with 397,000 metro viewers.
The top non-news program on SBS was a repeat of The Pyramids: Solving the Mystery with 74,000 views.

Fox League also aired the Broncos v Rabbitohs match which clocked 272,000 views, followed by live coverage of Friday Night Footy with 231,000 people tuning in.
In Friday night’s earlier match, the Raiders snuck past Cronulla 24-19 in a thrilling finish at Canberra Stadium, bringing in an audience of 220,000.
Lifestyle Channel’s The Great Australian Bake Off was the sixth most-watched program after Fox Leagues NRL coverage, with 39,000 views.
