Nine’s airing of The First Test of the Ashes – Session 1 – D2 topped entertainment total TV for the network with 845,000 viewers, growing by 16%. 

The biggest jump in commercial primetime viewing goes to ABC’s Vera, where the Total TV audience grew by 21% to reach 553,000 viewers. 

Overnight TV Ratings, June 24

Seven enjoyed a Saturday night win in both the network and primary channel shares with 21.3% and 33.6%, respectively. 7mate won the multichannels with 4.8%.

Seven’s Saturday Night AFL saw the Swans take a record-breaking 171-point victory over the Eagles as 343,000 tuned in to watch the match. In entertainment, Border Security: Australia’s Front Line reached 204,000 as border security officers suspect a woman at Melbourne airport concealing a massive illegal import. 

Nine’s airing of A Current Affair saw 347,000 tune in as the program met with regional Aussies who are likening youth crime sprees to living in a warzone. Earlier in the night, Getaway had 312,000 as the team showcased a true Polynesian experience in Hawaii. 

On the ABC, The Classic 100 in Concert with the Melbourne Symphony saw 295,000 tune in. Vera was viewed by 275,000 as Vera discovers the key to a murder case deep inside a child’s memory.  

10 aired The Dog House Australia as the program met with a french bulldog as they got attached to John and his partner Sammy. The show had 210,000. The network also aired Blue Bloods to 102,000 viewers. 

SBS aired The Real Crown: Inside House of Windsor to 110,000.

On Fox League, the Storm beat the Sea Eagles 24-6 in front of 289,000, while the Panthers showed up the Knights 20-12 in front of 278,000. The Eels also beat the Dolphins 48-20 in front of 223,000. 

Fox Footy’s top game was Freemantle V Essendon, which saw Freemantle smash by 32 points in front of 187,000. Sydney V West Coast clocked 183,000 as the Swans won by 171 points at the SCG in Sydney.
