Lifting 22% to top the night in non-news total TV ratings is ABC’s Gruen, which had 928,000 tune in as the show got meta, dissecting ad campaigns for the ABC through the years. The Weekly with Charlie Pickering rose 12% for a total audience of 753,000.
On 10, MasterChef has 941,000 watch an immunity challenge that sent Billie through to the semi final, lifting 16%.
Seven’s Home and Away brought 887,000 to Summer Bay, a rise of 23%, while total TV heavy hitter Big Brother lifted 41%, with 711,000 watching Tim’s luck run out.
On Nine, Ninja Warrior sprung up 16% for a total audience of 810,000, while the late session of Wimbledon Day 10 rose 9% for a total audience of 519,000.

Nine has won the night off the back of the State of Origin decider, with a primary share of 42.6% and a network share of 49.2%. 7TWO topped the night in multichannels with a share of 2.7%.
Queensland has emerged victorious after a hard fought State of Origin Game Three, winning 22-12. After a chaotic start that saw three concussions in the opening three minutes, the game came down to a series winning try from Queensland’s Ben Hunt, running 70 meters to seal the deal. 1,792m tuned in as the action unfolded, which was only just down on Game Two’s 1,797m, and up on Game One’s 1,771m.

On Seven, Home and Away kicked the night off with 397,000 tuning in. A repeat of Highway Patrol then hit the road, bringing 278,000 along for the ride.
The Project (245,000 6:30pm / 360,000 7pm) covered the winter wave of Covid, and interviewed MasterChef grad finale winner, Billie McKay. A repeat of The Dog House brought in 311,000, as Amrita met up with Jack Russell cross, Oreo. Rounding out the night was Five Bedrooms, with 175,000 tuning in.
The ABC’s 7.30 investigated the rights of gig economy workers and the United States making a diplomatic push into the Pacific for 452,000. Gruen took a look through the porthole and asked how you advertise the cruise industry, before pitching a public health campaign to address loneliness to 416,000. The Weekly With Charlie Pickering dissected the week for 381,000, before You Can’t Ask That wrapped the night up by interviewing people with dementia for 256,000.
The highest rating non-news show on SBS was the Tour De France: Stage 11, which drew a crowd of 126,000.
