• Winning streak continues for Seven’s Comm Games coverage

Seven’s Commonwealth Games day two night coverage was the top non-news program in the total TV ratings, bringing in a total audience of 827,000 and an increase of 3%.

The day two evening coverage came in second, rising by 3% to reach 721,000 people.

 Grantchester on ABC had the highest lift on overnight with 37% to reach a total TV audience of 714,000.

Winning the Saturday network shares was Seven with a strong 45.5%. The network also took out the primary channel win with 31.7%, while 7mate claimed the multichannel win with a 7.0% share.

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games continues to bode well for the network, with the night, late night and evening sessions claiming the top three non-news spots. Australia picked up nine gold medals on day nine as Ollie Hoare became just the second Australian after Herb Elliott to win the 1500m.

Commonwealth Games Day Nine Sessions:

Evening: 678,000 (379,000 metro, 299,000 regional)
Night: 701,000 (475,000 metro, 226,000 regional)
Late Night: 628,000 (458,000 metro, 170,000 regional)

Additionally, Seven’s: AFL Saturday Night Football reached an audience of 315,000, despite not airing in Sydney, as Geelong crushed St Kilda to win, 17.8 (110) to 10.5 (65).

On NineA Current Affair brought in 235,000 people as the program met the couple who have given themselves the retirement task of visiting every pub in Australia. Getaway had a viewership of 222,000 as Poh headed to France.

On ABC, British detective drama, Grantchester, brought in an audience of 357,000, making it the top entertainment program of the night.

A repeat of The Dog House played on 10, bringing in 162,000 views. 

SBS aired an episode of The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys, which reached an audience of 126,000.

Fox League has claimed the top three spots on subscription TV. The Panthers dominated the Raiders at GIO stadium to bring in an audience of 242,000 people, followed by the match between Sharks and Dragons, which reached 219,000 views.

NRL Super Saturday clocked 207,000 views.
