Total TV Ratings, August 21
Still dominating primetime for Nine, The Block lifted 30% in total TV, bringing in 1,666,000 viewers as the guest bedrooms were unveiled.
Also cracking the million mark was the ABC’s Vera, lifting 39% for a total audience of 1,252,000.
Seven’s My Kitchen Rules took a trip to Brisbane alongside 964,000 viewers for Rosie and Hayley‘s turn in the kitchen, lifting 25%.
The Masked Singer reveal rose 18%, drawing a crowd of 899,000 as Popcorn took his mask off and became Australia’s Sam Sparro. The rest of the episode lifted 21% for a total audience of 725,000.

Nine has won the night with a primary share of 25.5% and a network share of 31.7%. Topping the evening in multichannels was 7mate with a 3.8% share.
On Nine, The Block saw Master Ensuite Week come to an end – mercifully, for the exhausted Blockheads. Dylan and Jenny had their site temporarily shut down (again), before 981,000 tuned in as Omar and Oz sealed the win despite being forced to rip up all their tiles. The Block was the top show overall last night, even beating out the news headlines. On 60 Minutes, 484,000 watched as the show interviewed AFL great Danielle Laidley about her transition, and spoke to the Professor searching for a possible genetic explanation for the deaths of the Folbigg children.
Earlier in the day, the Newcastle Knights took on the Gold Coast Titans in Sunday afternoon NRL, but were no match for the home team. 209,000 tuned in as the Titans won 36-26.
Seven’s My Kitchen Rules hosted its first cook-off, with winning NSW couple Janelle and Monzir moving ahead to the semi-final. Each team had 90 minutes to cook and serve a main and 60 minutes to prepare a dessert, with 428,000 watching as Arrnott and Fuzz were just edged out of the competition. 7News Spotlight was watched by 251,000 as the show interviewed the partner of Senior Constable Brett Forte, who died in a blaze of gunfire on the job.
In the afternoon, 111,000 watched the Cats snatch a last minute victory over the Tigers in the AFLW – with 66,000 of those viewers from Melbourne.
On 10, The Sunday Project (215,000 6:30pm / 336,000 7pm) interviewed Kim Phuc, known as ‘Napalm Girl’, and spoke to Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott about a new campaign to encourage people to get moving. The Masked Singer finale upped the ante to round out the series, unmasking Melody Thornton (Mirrorball), Sheldon Riley (Snapdragon), and Hugh Sheridan (Rooster). 575,000 tuned in to the episode, with that number spiking to 713,000 for the winner announcement.

On the ABC, Spicks and Specks drew a crowd of 520,000, before 597,000 tuned in to crack the case with Vera.
The highest rating non-news show on SBS was Tutankhamun: Secrets Of The Toxic Tomb with 113,000 viewers.
