There are plenty of reasons to be excited about a TV & radio guide for the Third Cricket Test against Pakistan.

The summer test series between Australia and Pakistan comes to a climax this week with the NRMA Insurance Pink Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. There are plenty of media options to follow the game.

The Pink Test starts Wednesday, January 3 at 10:30am Sydney time.

People going to the SCG will be able to support the McGrath Foundation’s work for breast cancer awareness. Cricket fans are being asked to wear pink, showing support for the Foundation.

State of play

Australia won the first two of the three test series, thereby winning the series already.

However, there is plenty of interest left in the final test. Not least of all the drama surrounding the final test appearance of Australian opener David Warner.

Seven secured the services of former Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis for its commentary line-up for the 2023-24 summer cricket season.

Younis joins Seven’s coverage for all three tests against Pakistan alongside many other well-known Australian cricket names, led again by Ricky Ponting, alongside former Australian coach, Justin Langer, and fellow Australian batsman and former Pakistan T20 coach, Matthew Hayden.

Famous on-field names are set to return as expert commentators alongside Ponting, Langer, Hayden, and Younis, including Greg Blewett, Lisa Sthalekar, Trent Copeland, Callum Ferguson, Holly Ferling, Damien Fleming, Brad Hodge, Simon Katich, Katey Martin, Kirby Short and Elyse Villani.

7SPORT presenters James Brayshaw and Mel McLaughlin will return alongside resident callers Alister Nicholson, Tim Lane and Alison Mitchell, while Erin Holland, Andy Maher, Jason Richardson and Emma Freedman round out the team.

Fox Cricket Test team

The international legends joining the Fox Cricket team this summer include Wasim Akram, Ravi Shastri, Isa Guha, Harsha Bhogle, Brian Lara, Michael Vaughan and Ian Smith.

The local commentary team members include Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Mark Waugh, Mel Jones, Mike Hussey, Kerry O’Keeffe, Mark Howard, Sarah Jones, Brad Haddin and Brendon Julian.

Radio: Triple M rocks cricket

Triple M has fielded a commentary lineup of trusted names led by cricketing icon, former Australian captain and Triple M’s Mark Taylor.

Padding up for the cricket Triple M are James Brayshaw, Mark Howard, Dan Ginnane, Gus Worland and Chris Dittmar, along with Australian cricketers Merv Hughes, Greg Blewett, Mark Waugh, Brad Haddin, Callum Ferguson, Aaron Finch and Darren Lehmann.

The line-up is bolstered by international cricket royalty Lord Ian Botham and joining the team from Fox Sports is West Indian batting maestro Brian Lara and Pakistani great Wasim Akram.

Rounding out the call team are sports all-rounder Jack Heverin and statistician Ethan Meldrum.

Triple M coverage starts from 10am.

Radio: SEN’s summer of cricket

Leading the team at SEN is ACRA-winning broadcaster Gerard Whateley. He is joined by Adam Collins who can also be heard on the The Final Word podcast which has been doing live shows this week.

Also heard on SEN is the SEN NZ broadcaster Ian Smith who is also covering the Test Series and the BBL for Fox Cricket, “Bowlologist” Damien Flemming and Simon Katich. There are also special comments from The Australian’s Peter Lalor and Bharat Sundaresan from Cricbuzz.
