After a three-month renovation, the contestants are set to endure Auction Day on The Block 2023.
The Block Grand Final premieres at 7:00 pm, November 5 on Nine and 9Now.
The contestants will learn the reserve prices of their newly built houses before the auction order is decided. As usual, anything above the reserve price at the auction will be the profit they receive in their back pocket, and whoever makes the biggest profit above their reserve price is declared the winner of The Block.
The estimated suburb median for a four-bedroom home in Hampton East, where the block is located is currently $1.53m, and $1.97m for a five-bedroom home.
In last year’s Auction Day, Omar and Oz were first up in the order and they won $1,586,666.66 in profit as their house sold for $5,666,666.66.
Judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer, Marty Fox and guest judge Dave Franklin have all said that Steph and Gian’s house is the standout and they all expect their reno job to win big at the auction.
Marty Fox said: “Based on their land size, I think House 4 or 5 will sell for the highest amount. They have also won the rooms that really sell houses: being Master Bedrooms and Kitchens.”
The real estate agents representing the teams:
• Kyle and Leslie in House 1: Michael Townsend from McGrath St Kilda
• Leah and Ash in House 2: Halli Moore from Buxton Hampton East
• Kristy and Brett in House 3: Julian Cannata from Belle Property St Kilda/Brighton
• Steph and Gian in House 4: Marin Durkovic, Aaron Hill and Chelsea Kleeven from Ray White Sunbury
• Eliza and Liberty in House 5: Nick Renna and Connor Harvey from Jellis Craig Brighton
