The 94th Annual Academy Awards are set to air live, free and exclusive Monday, March 28 on Channel Seven and 7Plus. The Oscars will be held at The Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles on Sunday March 27, 2022 (local time).

Coverage will start from 5.30am as Sunrise’s Natalie Barr will rub shoulders with the stars live from the Oscars red carpet. Joining Nat to bring viewers all the glitz, glamour, and celebrity interviews will be Sunrise’s entertainment guru Nelson Aspen and 7NEWS US Bureau Chief Ashlee Mullany

The ceremony will air live after Sunrise from 11am Monday AEDT, co-hosted by Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall. The awards ceremony will also be replayed at 9.40pm on Channel Seven and 7plus.

The 2022 nominations have been announced and leading Australia’s hopes are Nicole Kidman and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Kidman, 54, has earned a Best Actress nod for her portrayal of comedienne Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos. She is up against the likes of Kristen Stewart in Spencer, Jessica Chastain for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Olivia Colman in The Lost Daughter, and Penélope Cruz in Parallel Mothers.

Smit-McPhee, 25, received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his part in the Western Psychological drama The Power of the Dog.

Leading with the most nominations The Power of the Dog, produced by See-Saw Films, with 12 nominations including Best Picture and Best Director for Kiwi director Jane Campion.

Following behind with 10 nods is sci-fi epic Dune, West Side Story, and Belfast with seven nominations and King Richard with six nods.
