The Perth Wildcats and Melbourne United will battle it out for the 2021 NBL Championship, live on ESPN.
Perth are into their ninth NBL Grand Final, and will be looking to claim their third consecutive NBL championship against United. The Wildcats have won four of the last five NBL titles, ironically Melbourne United denying Perth a clean sweep.
United won its only championship in 2018, and will hope to end the dream run of the Wildcats this season.
The NBL Grand Final will be played over five games, with Perth hosting the first two matches in the series.
Friday night’s opening match is live at 8.30pm AEST on ESPN.
The pair will then return for Game Two of the NBL Grand Final on Sunday at 5pm AEST, also live on ESPN.
The Wildcats booked their passage after downing Illawarra in three games, after a thrilling series. Perth were made to work for the Grand Final berth, having dropped the first game to the Hawks and battling with injured stars Luke Travers and Mitch Norton. Melbourne United also needed the full three games to see off a determined South East Melbourne Phoenix.
United stormed back from 17 points down to claim the Semi Final series decider and surge into a showdown with the Wildcats.
They will again look to the impact of star Jock Landale, whose Game Three performance helped storm past the plucky Phoenix.
It now sets up a fascinating Grand Final series, where every game will be live on ESPN.
Schedule information for Game 3-5 will be released when determined.
