Australia will unite on the Seven Network on Saturday for the biggest sporting party in 23 years as our Matildas face France in what will be a history-making FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Quarter Final.
7SPORT anchor Mel McLaughlin and broadcasting icon Bruce McAvaney will once again lead Seven’s live coverage direct from Brisbane Stadium of the entire match including any extra time, from 4.00 pm AEST live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.
Seven Melbourne managing director and head of network sport, Lewis Martin, said: “This Saturday will be a historic moment for all Australians, and the biggest night of sport since Sydney 2000 as the mighty Matildas look to capitalise on their inspiring World Cup campaign.”
So far, Seven’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 has reached 9.25 million broadcast viewers plus another 1.67 million on 7plus. More than 185 million minutes of content has been watched on 7plus to date.
Head coach Tony Gustavsson said in a pre-match press conference that if Sam Kerr is fit to play 90 minutes, she will start in the match.
“Whether she is ready to play 90 minutes plus extra time, that’s to be decided tonight. But there is no question whatsoever that if she is, she is starting.”
