TV Guide: How and When to Watch NBL finals on ESPN and SBS

• Just four teams remain in the hunt for the Hungry Jack’s NBL title

SBS & ESPN will bring the NBL Finals action to basketball fans with extensive coverage of this weekend’s semi-final matchups.

Just four teams remain in the hunt for the Hungry Jack’s NBL title, as Perth Wildcats, Cairns Taipans, Melbourne United and Sydney Kings shoot for the championship.

The NBL Finals Series will tip off with a blockbuster double header – last season’s winners, Perth Wildcats, taking on Cairns Taipans, before Sydney Kings meet Melbourne United the following day.

If game three of either NBL semi-final is required, they will be played on Thursday night, 5 March and will be broadcast live and free on SBS VICELAND and via SBS On Demand.

The Wildcats are looking to defend their crown and take their fourth title in the past five years. Led by NBL MVP Bryce Cotton, they will again prove hard to stop.

On Saturday night, the action turns to Sydney, where the Kings host Melbourne United in the opening game of their semi-final matchup (7.30pm AEDT).

The Kings were the first team to stay top of the ladder for the NBL season, but that guarantees nothing come finals time.

“Thousands have enjoyed the NBL on ESPN this season, and that will only grow with the finals action,” ESPN Australia New Zealand General Manager Haydn Arndt said.

“Four teams remaining, from four different states, it really whets the appetite for the upcoming finals campaign – any team can take it out.”
