The new A-League Women campaign kicks off on December 3 with five matches every round and the regular season is expected to conclude in March.
10 and Paramount’s commentary teams include Melbourne Victory legend, Archie Thompson, four-time FIFA World Cup Socceroo Mark Milligan, Western Sydney Wanderers and former Matildas defender, Georgia Yeoman-Dale, ex-Socceroos and Adelaide United Championship winning striker Bruce Djite, three-time Sydney FC Championship winning forward, Alex Brosque, former Matildas midfielder and Brisbane Roar W-League Championship winner, Amy Chapman and former Socceroo and Sydney FC defender, Luke Wilkshire.
Nick Bower, 10 ViacomCBS sports sales director about how 10 plans to utilise this new TV deal to benefit both the broadcaster and the sport.
“Any network has got a strong interest in the power of live sport,” said Bower. “Traditionally, our live sport has been major events that have captured the hearts of that nationalistic audience like the Melbourne Cup and Australian Grand Prix. To get a consistent, large sport that has built an audience over time and has a lot of content week in week out is something that wasn’t within the 10 stable of sports. Looking at football, here’s an opportunity for us to build a really strong, consistent sport within our platforms. We think there’s a huge opportunity to grow the sport as well.”
Paramount+ offers free seven-day trials with monthly subscriptions costing $8.99. Clubs are also offering discounts on yearly subscriptions via membership packages.
The platform can be accessed via desktop, iOS, Apple TV 4/5, Android, Android TV, Chromecast, Fetch and Telstra TV.
