Stranger Things has topped all of the TV demand charts for a second week in a row. Season four, which is in two parts, has come in at an impressive 117.14 points above market average in Australia and 51.92 points in New Zealand. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the latest season sees the original cast as well as some new characters spread out across the United States and beyond. The second part of the season will be released on Netflix on July 1.
Disney Plus original Obi-wan Kenobi has placed second in all of the TV demand charts, coming in 32.88 points above market average in Australia and 28.98 above average in New Zealand. The 2022 miniseries is part of the Star Wars franchise, beginning ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). The six-part series stars Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor and Moses Ingram.
The Mandalorian has placed third in Australia’s digital originals and overall TV shows with 26.69 points above the market average. The release date for the upcoming third season of the series was revealed at the ongoing Star Wars Celebration in California. It was confirmed at the event that filming on the hit Star Wars spin-off has finished, with all episodes now in pre-production. They also confirmed the new season would arrive in February 2023.
Over in another sci-fi world, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds placed third in New Zealand digital originals with 19.13 points above average. The show came in at sixth in Australia’s digital originals with 19.72 points above the market average.
Better Call Saul placed third in New Zealand’s overall TV shows, coming in at 19.81 points above average, while Sesame Street claimed fourth place in Australia’s overall TV shows with 25.3 points. Paramount Plus original, The Boys had a difference of 22.02 points in Australia and 18.06 points in New Zealand.
