Triple M’s official coverage of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio will include a daily show from Australia’s sporting heroes Roy Slaven and HG Nelson.
The senior sporting correspondents will be covering the festivities for the duration of the Games, 8-19 August, from 12-1pm Monday to Friday, with HG officially dubbing himself as “Triple M’s senior boxing correspondent.”
Returning to the Triple M Network for the first time since 2011 Roy & HG said, “It’s a dream come true to be back on Triple M after all of this time.”
“We are both humbled and proud that the great organisation has seen the error of their ways and opened their doors for us, albeit for a fortnight.”
Head of content for the Triple M Network Mike Fitzpatrick said, “It’s so cool to have these two broadcasting veterans back on Triple M for the world’s biggest sporting event.
“Their insight, experience and understanding of the Games are second to none and will provide our listeners with a unique coverage of all that is going on in Rio.”
Roy and HG will broadcast Monday – Friday, 12-1pm, on Triple M nationally and on Southern Cross Austereo’s LocalWorks network.
