Triple J is celebrating 20 years of Like A Version with the Hottest 100 of Like A Version.
Triple J Breakfast hosts Bryce and Concetta announced the fusion of the iconic Triple J institutions – Hottest 100 and Like A Version – to mark the milestone occasion.
Voting for Hottest 100 of Like A Version opens Tuesday, 23 May, 8 am AEST and will close on Monday, 10 July, 12 pm AEST.
In its almost 20-year history, Like A Version has become one of Triple J’s most beloved segments. Every Friday morning, music fans listen in anticipation of an artist’s performance in the Triple J studio.
In 2023, Like A Version is much larger in scale and ambition than in 2004, but the foundation remains the same: artists come into the Triple J studio and play an original song and a cover, recorded and filmed for radio and online.
Over the years, international artists like Arctic Monkeys, Childish Gambino, AURORA, Chvrchesm, HAIM and so many more have received huge love and support for their performances worldwide.
The segment has also seen artists who were on the rise and later took over the world like Billie Eilish and Lorde, while local legends like Flume, DMA’S, A.B. Original and Sarah Blasko, have blow away audiences with their performances.
Like A Version has also provided a platform for more than 400 local Australian artists to reach new heights in their careers, with popular covers helping them reach new audiences across the globe.
The countdown of the Hottest 100 of Like A Version will be live on Triple J and Double J on Saturday, 15 July, at 12 pm AEST. You can listen via the station’s app, radio or the Triple J website.
Voters are encouraged to dig deep and start thinking about their favourite Like A Versions on the website and YouTube, where hundreds of past performances from over the years can be relived.
