Seven has announced that the new season of The Voice premieres 7.00pm Sunday, 8 August on Channel Seven and 7plus.
The world’s biggest singing competition will debut on its new home with a new look, new feel, an all-star coaching panel and world-class artists waiting to be discovered.
Taking their places on the spinning red chairs are multiple ARIA and Grammy Award winner Keith Urban, UK hit machine Rita Ora, singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian and, making her coaching debut, singing and acting sensation Jessica Mauboy.
On what drew him to coaching, Keith Urban said: “I love the spirit of The Voice – the fact that we’re coaches more than judges – and that we get to do hands on mentoring. That’s what sets the show apart.” Rita Ora added: “Helping people find their voice is truly inspiring.”
Making her coaching debut, Jessica Mauboy defined great talent as: “It’s not always about hitting the perfect note, it’s about making sure you feel the song because that’s going to help you connect to the audience and the people watching at home.”
Guy Sebastian said: “What I am looking for is somebody who you can imagine on radio, who is immediately identifiable by their voice, their tone, and the way they tell a story through song.”
The 10th season hosted by Sonia Kruger premieres 7.00pm Sunday, 8 August on Channel Seven and 7plus.
This month the Seven Network also announced it has commissioned The Voice: Generations, a special event series that will premiere on Seven and 7plus in 2022.
The Voice: Generations takes the competition and invites singers and musicians from different generations to perform together in The Voice arena.
Seven’s Network director of programming, Angus Ross, said: “The incredible new season of The Voice which debuts after the Olympics is the best yet.
“We are so thrilled with the series, we think it deserves a spin-off and The Voice: Generations is the perfect way to add an exciting new dimension to the format.”
