The Voice: Generations takes the world’s biggest singing competition and invites singers and musicians from different generations to perform together in The Voice arena, premiering 7:30pm, Monday, January 31st on Seven and 7Plus.

Multiple ARIA and Grammy Award winner Keith Urban, UK hit machine Rita Ora, mega-selling singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian, and singing and acting sensation Jessica Mauboy are back in the spinning chairs, with Sonia Kruger back as host.

Dad Ben and his four kids Raein, Freeman, Jake, and Julie are globe-trotting buskers who have performed on the streets of Europe and the US. Amassing over 5.5 million views on YouTube, Kids of Leo are taking their act from the streets to the stage to perform to their biggest crowd yet.

Father and son duo Ty and Eddie are rock and roll fanatics. Ty, a successful singer-songwriter, has penned chart-topping hits and toured as the support act for Midnight Oil, Rod Stewart, and Hoodoo Gurus, while young Eddie styles himself like Angus Young and has played in a KISS tribute band.

The Hages are a close-knit musical family made up of mum, Debbie, and her three daughters Karlya, Shelley and Alicia. Between them, they have eight cats and when they are not singing together, they are crafting and making earrings to sell at a local market. Hailing from Spalding in rural South Australia (population 200), The Hages have come to The Voice: Generations to put their small town on the map.

Dance is life for this father and daughter duo. Maurice owns a talent school and created the hit group, Justice Crew, while Micah was hand-picked by Justin Bieber to dance on stage with him during his huge Sydney stadium tour. Although the family are well-known for their dancing talent, they have come to The Voice: Generations to put their voices centre stage.

Maureen and Crystal are Australia’s most unlikely best friends. Nearly three decades apart in age, their timeless love of musical theatre has brought them together. Maureen is a veteran of the stage with five decades of experience alongside stars including Hugh Jackman, Kylie Minogue and Marcia Hines. Crystal has performed to thousands as part of an ABBA tribute act. Separately they have played hundreds of stages but have never shared one, until now. Maureen and Crystal are here to prove age is just a number and shouldn’t be a barrier to friendship or success.

Named after the Castlereagh River on which they and their family have lived for generations, when this family band isn’t playing music, they love fishing and playing footy. Mum Lisa is their biggest fan and roadie who works behind the scenes. Castlereagh Connection are proud of their heritage and integrate their local language into their performances. They’ve played a few small-town gigs before but are coming to the big smoke for The Voice: Generations to play their biggest gig yet.

Travelling Nomads

Dad Kevin threw in his job as forensic crime scene investigator to hit the road with his family for the experience of a lifetime. The family have become singing nomads, travelling over 38,000km around Australia in their Sullli-van, singing their original music and making memories as they go. The Sullivans have made The Voice: Generations the next pit stop on their journey.

The Wenas are a fun-loving family that live, sing, dress, and party together. Their household is influenced by the family’s Congolese heritage where music and singing at home is a way of life. Eldest daughter Jael, leads the group of six and has already achieved success when she represented Australia at Junior Eurovision in 2018.

The O’Donnells are a bluegrass family band made up of three generations with a long lineage of musicianship, including Grandpa John’s parents who were both OAM recipients for their contribution to the arts. The band love taking classic pop songs and reimagining them as Bluegrass bangers. The Voice: Generations will give the latest generation of The O’Donnells the opportunity to make their musical mark on the family history book, including three-year-old Amy as the youngest performer on any Voice stage in the world.

Bloom and James are madly in love and engaged to be married. The couple met at a gig on New Years’ Eve in 2014 and have never looked back. Bloom’s Nonna was initially unsure of their relationship, given the couple’s almost 20-year age gap, but she is now James’ biggest fan. Bloom and James spend 24/7 together touring the country with their original tribute shows to Adele, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Nicks, and Carole King. They have come to The Voice: Generations because they believe this show was made for them.

Kelsi, 25 and Jessica, 13

Music teacher Kelsi took Jessica on as her student before realising how much they have in common. They went to the same school, have played the same stages, have played Disney princesses and are both tap-dancing pros. They’ve lived double lives but a decade apart. Despite singing together they have never shared the stage, until now on The Voice: Generations.

Mum Christine and her son, Harry, play regular RSL and club gigs on the Central Coast circuit. Christine was still performing onstage until a week before she gave birth, and once Harry arrived, he was singing in nappies and taking dance classes at two. Christine has brought Harry to The Voice: Generations to show the world how talented her son is.

Caitlin was a professional gymnast but gave up her Olympic dreams following a devastating accident. Caitlin’s dad supported her through her recovery period and now the tables have turned. Caitlin is her dad’s rock, helping him through his own personal battles. Together they have come to The Voice: Generations to strengthen their bond and win the series.
