The rumour about Meghan Markle that's tragic if it's true
Markle has fallen prey to a rogue online attack, because if you didn't already know, she can't do anything right.

There was exciting ‘news’ from the Meghan Markle machine last week:
1. She's returning to Britain with Prince Harry and her kids, and
2. She'll have a role in Guy Ritchie's huge Netflix show, The Gentlemen.
Admittedly, the news is more exciting for her than to any of us normal people who are merely witnesses, but still, good on her.
No one can accuse Markle of not trying. From her own Netflix show With Love, Meghan, to her lifestyle brand As Ever, her exclusive retreat in Australia and a potential Netflix project about Harry in the military, she's the queen of hustle.
But, once again, Markle has fallen prey to a rogue online attack, because if you didn't already know, she cannot do anything right in the public's eye.

Meghan Markle ‘dropped’ from Guy Ritchie show
Royal author and former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown has claimed Markle has been dropped from Ritchie's show after the reaction to her casting became “intense”.
“I learned this morning that the casting of Meghan Markle in season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has been withdrawn,” Brown wrote as an “exclusive” on Substack.
"The backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable to go forward,” she wrote, adding: “This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the UK. More to come.”
The claim was subsequently reported by The Hollywood Reporter, which said it had contacted Brown and that she “stands by her reporting”.
Call me skeptical but this highly unnecessary post seems like an attention-seeking announcement, using Markle as collateral.

Tragic if it's true
The thing to note is that none of this ‘news’ is coming Markle herself. Which was exactly her issue when she left Britain in what the media condescendingly called ‘Megxit’.
The story is literally a source telling the media last week that she was in talks with Ritchie, and now a source claiming she's been dramatically dropped because she's so strongly disliked.
At this stage, it's all conjecture. None of it has come from Ritchie, Markle, or Netflix.
If it is true, it's tragic that the pile-one seems set to continue.
So. Here we are again.
It seems nothing has changed since Markle confessing on an ITV documentary years ago, “I knew it would be hard, I wasn't expecting it to be unfair.”
As the top comment on Brown's post says: “Ouch. I get it that she's not always likeable. But I'm genuinely confused by all those who revel in the public hate pile-on.
"Are any of us better off living in a world that is so short on compassion and grace?”
