A one-of-a-kind WWE spectacle has been unveiled on the shores of Sydney’s Bondi Beach, to officially mark Binge as the new streaming home for WWE in Australia
WWE Champion Tag Team The New Day consisting of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and founding member, Big E, took centre stage at the event, giving hundreds of Australian fans the opportunity to see and hear from the three WWE icons.
The arrival of The New Day to Australian shores marks the first true reunion of the original New Day Tag Team in over a year and celebrates Binge becoming the new streaming home of the WWE Network.
Mediaweek’s Julia Grant was on the ground at the event and spoke to the trio about the new partnership.
All WWE premium live events, including Royal Rumble (January 29) and WrestleMania 39 (April 2 and 3), in addition to WWE Network’s original programming and a vast collection of archived content, will be available to stream on Binge.
“It’s been amazing. Just to see the support that we have in the WWE Universe. It’s a really big deal for us to be here, especially that we have this partnership with Binge,” Kingston said.
Fans travelled up to 10 hours to see the event in action, and Kingston describes the relationship they have with fans as “extremely passionate.” He said, “Every time we come here, the energy is just top notch and the people are always so excited to see us.
“We just really appreciate the level of enthusiasm that people bring when they come to see a WWE show; it just makes us want to give 110% when we come here – it’s an honour to be here.”
When asked about the importance of the Binge partnership in connecting with the audience, Kingston said, “It’s super important because we have fans literally all over the world and how we deliver that content to them is so important because that’s the way that they get to engage with us, that’s the way that they get to keep up with the latest goings on in WWE – and we have a lot going on.
“Binge is going to have not just raw, not just Smackdown, not just our premium live events, but also going to have all the library with the history of WWE. So if you’re a fan that wants to get involved, and you want to know how we got to this point, you can go on to Binge, and you can look at the library.”

The trio are one of the most successful Tag Teams in WWE history having won multiple championships, and most recently, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods became WWE NXT Tag Team Champions. Kingston admits the crowd has changed significantly since they were first formed.
“If you go and watch WWE back in the 70s and 60s, and a little bit of the 80s, you see just old men in the crowd with their hands kind of folded. But you look at our crowd now and you see mums and their sons and dads and their daughters and this whole family friendly experience.
“And for us to be a part of bringing people together as a family, it’s a beautiful thing, so we’re really excited for this partnership,” he said.
Binge executive director, Alison Hurbert-Burns said: “We’re thrilled to welcome WWE champions, The New Day – Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E to Australian shores with our very own spectacle on the iconic Bondi Beach, to celebrate Binge becoming the new streaming home of WWE.
“We can’t wait to deliver all the WWE world class entertainment to Australian fans, with every WWE Premium Live Event including this month’s anticipated Royal Rumble, available with a Binge subscription starting from just $10 per month. Now fans can enjoy all their favourite WWE action plus the world’s best TV shows and movies on Binge.”
The New Day will continue to tour Australia through Sydney and Melbourne over the coming days to celebrate Binge as the new streaming home of the WWE Network in Australia.
